Who we are

IBAGPT is an independent, student-built AI assistant that answers questions about IBA: programs, faculty, admissions, schedules, and campus life. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or an official service of the Institute of Business Administration.

This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. If you have questions, contact us at info@ibagpt.com.

Information we collect

  • Account information. If you create an account, we store your email address. If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile picture with us through our authentication provider.
  • Conversations and content. The questions you ask and the AI responses you receive are stored so you can return to your chat history. Signed-in users' conversations are protected by row-level security so that only you can access them.
  • Anonymous use. If you use IBAGPT without an account, your conversations are kept locally in your browser rather than on our servers. We store a small, anonymous usage counter to enforce free message limits.
  • Usage data. We record token counts and basic timestamps to apply usage limits and keep the service running.
  • Premium requests. If you request a Premium upgrade, we store your selected payment method and the payment screenshot you upload so we can verify your payment.

How we use your information

  • To provide the service and generate answers to your questions.
  • To save and display your conversation history.
  • To apply free and Premium usage limits and prevent abuse.
  • To review and process Premium upgrade requests.
  • To send you service-related notifications by email.

AI processing and third-party services

To answer your questions, the text you send, along with relevant context retrieved from our knowledge base, is sent to third-party AI providers that generate responses. We rely on the following processors to operate IBAGPT:

  • Supabase. Authentication, database, and file storage (your account, conversations, and uploaded screenshots are stored here).
  • Google. Optional sign-in with your Google account.
  • OpenRouter and AI model providers. Your questions and retrieved context are processed to generate answers and embeddings.
  • Email delivery. To send service notifications.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your conversations to train our own models. Please review each provider's own privacy policy for details on how they handle data.

Cookies and local storage

We use your browser's local storage to keep you signed in, remember your theme preference, and (for anonymous users) store your chat history on your device. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention and your choices

  • You can delete individual conversations at any time from the sidebar.
  • Anonymous conversations live only in your browser. Clearing your browser data removes them.
  • To delete your account and associated data, email us at info@ibagpt.com and we will process your request.

Security

We use row-level security so that each user can access only their own data, and we rely on reputable infrastructure providers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we work to protect your information.

Children

IBAGPT is intended for university students and adults. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of IBAGPT after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
